Celebrity Privilege

Having the audacity to ask average people to provide the resources and/or means while having both in abundance.

Did you see the video of Oprah and The Rock using their celebrity privilege to request people make donations to the Maui relief effort

(not) Instagram Celebrities

People, usually from the south of England, who are in Year 7-11 and are usually the elites in their class who are recognised by students all around the local town where their schools are based. They think they are Instagram Celebrities but they’re really not.

You can identify them if they have around 1000 followers, there account is on private and they have barley posts, or 0. This is the result of them removing old posts which they think are cringe and if they overflow with posts they leave the ‘celebrity circle’

There pictures are mainly of weird angles and face covered in masks, with girls usually having some glass effect and pictures heavily edited or put in mean less montages.

Their Instagram stories mainly involve asking the question ‘Anyone going to insert name heres’ or ‘Picture at name here agains’ and as most people from the schools would be in separate circles but at the same time a big one, they all say yes. Other things include them doing random number things, emoji things and ranking their ‘friends’

They also boast about what they do with their friends, boasting that they have spent money expensive clothes to wear at some random girls party and annoying little things, like comparing Endgame to England vs Croatia (only people understood that game) (real story)

By the time they get to 18 all their relevance is non existent

celebrity

A person who is considered famous. A famous person is someone who is known by many people. For the sake of simplicity, let’s assume that famous means being known by 10% of an areas population (such as a country, country sub division, town, etc.) from that period (such as the renaissance or roaring twenties). Therefore, there are many types of famous. One may be famous in their family, but not globally famous. This definition is useful for when desiring to write definitions about celebrities on Urban Dictionary. If it can be assumed that at least 10% of the population of the celebrities home nation (or residing nation if they are stateless) has basic knowledge about them (knowing their name and occupation), then it is acceptable to write a definition about that celebrity.

Urban Dictionary Member 1: Would it be reasonable to assume that Morgan Freeman is a celebrity.
Urban Dictionary Member 2: Yes, as one can assume that at least 10% of the population knows him.

celebrity

A celebrity is a person who is widely recognised in a given society and commands a degree of public and media attention. The word is derived from the Latin celebrity, from the adjective celeber ("famous," "celebrated"). Being a celebrity is often one of the highest degrees of notability, although the word notable is mistaken to be synonymous with the title celebrity, fame, prominence etc. As in Wikipedia, articles written about notable people doesn't necessarily synonymize them as a celebrity.

Oh, that is a celebrity!

Person with no life: I was watching Britney Spears live and she has the worst camel toe

Guy 2: fuck off dickweed, celebrity's shouldn't be discriminated for no reason

Me: I hate Britney Spears but I do agree that celebs shouldn't be discriminated
