An abominable hellhole where the life is sucked from young people. School takes up about 25% of an entire day, almost every day, until you are in your twenties. School teaches completely useless lessons, like how to find x in 300 different ways. This is never actually used later in life unless you become a math teacher.
School is unbearable torture and is only comparible to one thing... church.

Unfortunately the closest thing to a meritocracy that the United States provides. (meritocracy = success based on merit)
School was primarily set up to keep kids busy while parents work. The fact that it goes for so long is probably the result of our society going through industrialization. It also is used to teach children what is expected of them in this society: a.k.a. glorifying the middle class (even though only 30% of us are actually IN the middle class!)
It is the No. 1 thing correlated to a bigger paycheck - the higher you get in it, the bigger your earnings later in life.
The value of the school attended: The "H-bomb" on resumes is to be a graduate from Harvard.

My social studies teacher tried to brain wash use all, by saying america is the greatest country god only loves america god hates all other countries, liberals are pussies, George Bush knows all.

an institution known to torture kids by teaching geomerty, science and running aound for no FUCKING reason. this causes the kids to almost commit suicide on a daily FUCKING basis
