Pretension does not necessarily correlate with such actions, but may be a first indication of an individual's propensity to act in said manner.

Before I enrolled in college there was a shortage of electrical engineers,they were hiring like crazy and making top dollar.Four years later I have my degree but all the jobs have been filled.I just got career-holed .
