A phrase uttered by quality Americans/Canadians who accept the absolute fact that the east coast is far superior to the west coast or the midwest.
Person: “did you hear about the drought out west?”
Virginia native: “just goes to show east coast best coast.”
Although the term had been used to refer to the East Coast for several years previously (as a response to the claim that "the West Coast is the best coast"), since 2012 "Beast Coast" has emerged as a way to refer to the new wave of fresh, young, often experimental, underground hip-hop artists gaining prominence in New York.
Some of the most notable "Beast Coast" artists are the Pro Era collective (which includes Joey Bada$$), the Underachievers and Flatbush Zombies.

Chicago is neither West Coast nor East Coast. It is located on the Fat Coast.
You may disrespect them, think that they don't do as much work as the Marines or Navy.
But when you're in the 10 degrees water in a storm surrounded by sharks and 20 feet tall tidal waves, you're gonna have a hella lot respect for them.

A sea-based branch of the United States military that is jointly operated by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. During times of war, they assist the Navy. During times of peace, their general duties include: border patrol, immigration control, environmental protection, search and rescue, and stopping drug trafficking into the Untied States.
