Growth Mindset

To briefly sum up the findings: Individuals who believe their talents can be developed (through hard work, good strategies, and input from others) have a growth mindset. They tend to achieve more than those with a more fixed mindset (those who believe their talents are innate gifts).

Teacher: Why were you in a out of bound zone? You have a warning.
Student: Okay, I will try not going to the out of bound zone next time.

Could've Been Mindset

A mindset develop through a realization based on the past of your own life. Missed opportunities and loss of motivation that occur within one's life time leads one to believe that if they had, hadn't done certain things in their life's e.g They maybe could've been something that they aren't today. This isn't to say that for this person They can no longer achieve it but that they should work towards their dreams for better or worst. People with this mindset take every opputunity and don't take the life that they are living for granted.

"Man, i wish i could've been famous.. maybe if had just stuck to the acting when i loved it instead of playing video games i could've been"

Friend 2
"Seems like your starting to develop like a could've been mindset?"

4 to 5 mindset

Formerly the 45 mindset, the 4 to 5 mindset was adopted by IB students following the failure of a Mathematics AA HL assessment on the topic of complex numbers. The goal is to pass classes rather than aiming for perfection, in an attempt to maintain sanity and for self-preservation purposes

'Nah, I'm aiming for a 5.'
'What happened to the 45 mindset?'
'I failed my math. All I want now is to pass. Its the 4 to 5 mindset :('

Jerry Springer mindset

Derived from typical topics on the Jerry Springer Show. It is the frame of mind or typical thought pattern that someone has when they believe the normal course of life's interactions should resemble the unrealistic, overly dramatic, and emotionally immature actions that are seen on the Jerry Springer Show.

I'm not sleeping with the neighbor, not planning to run away with my married ex, and no my babies daddy's aren't the husbands of my best friends - so you need to turn off that Jerry Springer mindset of yours!

The Threes Mindset

The philosophy, or “mindset”, that implies for an individual to “keep shooting”. This can be interpreted in life as to never give up and keep “shooting” your shots. This philosophy is expressed through the popular “threes” hand motion held up my athletes such as Carmelo Anthony, Odell Beckham Jr, Steph Curry, and others.

Athletes should have The Threes Mindset to succeed.

rush mindset

The mindset that workers get into at their job when a rush is occurring. This causes people to be much more easily agitated and start being rude or snapping at others because they want to get everything done as fast as possible, and get the rush over with. It gets to head when things don't go as fast as they want to, and the arguments and passive aggressiveness begins.

We had a crazy rush last night at work, Tiffany really got into the rush mindset and starting arguing with the chef.
