A skin condition in which a person's skin rises, after a given time, where it is scratched. It generally does not hurt and the mark can last for hours. Very few people have it.
It is not contagious or life-threatening, though it is kind of weird/cool.
It is called "artificial" because it resembles to an extent the symptoms of urticaria.
Because of my artificial urticaria, I can write my grocery list on my arm!

When an employee pretends to work an assignment or file by putting some bullshit notes in the file, but never really works on it. This gives the appearance that the assignment, case or project is moving forward. Ultimately the case is not resolved.
This file looks like artificial handling. Nobody was ever contacted but the notes show their were multiple attempts to contact.
Notes: Called Party A, no answer, left message. Called Party B, too busy to talk. Waiting for additional information from the parties.

When you work a shitty minimal wage job and want a week off, but cant request a week off legitimately, so you string together a series of days off by combining all of the favors people owe you to cover your shift multiple days in a row whilst also using as many "sick" days are allowed without getting fired in order to create yourself an artificial vacation.
Work has me hella stressed so i need the week off, so i made myself an artificial vacation by asking all of my co-workers who owe me favors to cover my shifts for me the next few days.
A computer, robot, or other similar automation that is intelligently programmed, but lacks the common sense to get itself out of a failed state.
Tech 1: Wow! Look at the artificial intelligence this robot uses to make decisions!
<Robot crashes, and goes into alarm>
Tech 2: Yeah, I guess we’ll be semi-automated until we get this robot out of the mess it’s in now…
