country bumpkin

big bellied, long haired, untrimmed bearded, fat-so that works at a factory 1/2 the year, laid off the rest of the time. Spends his evenings eating dinner on a TV tray watching TV in the front room. His unemployed wife's 3 kids, with 3 different daddies, eating dinner with their hands in the kitchen. Leaving the dirty dishes to pile up in the sink until they run out, or until she has time to rinse them off. Has many rusty vehicles surrounding the house, but only one runs.

My ex-husband is a country bumpkin.

country grunge

1. a gritty form of modern country music
2. a mix-genre of guitar tones and drum beats
3. usually a country-raised lyrical base with influence from experience or thoughts
4. a non-conforming attitude, but still gentleman-like

-values include hard-working, generous, kind, courteous, but wild and fun.
-more real and in-depth lyrical subject matters
-emotions vary greatly, i.e. thought-provoking, sarcastic, light-hearted and/or heartbroken

Jared Blake is an example of a recent, mass-exposed country grunge artist on NBC's "The Voice".

Other popular artists include Johnny Cash, Kris Kristoffersen, Jamey Johnson, Keith Urban, and Jason Aldean, to name a few.
