Origin: Neopolitan Dialect (Naples, Italy). It has been used for over 100 years in Italy and has somehow reached the States and gained popularity.

Meh has many, many meanings. It's truly a lovely word though I must say Americans have not quite grasped the beauty of it.
Italian Example: Meh, damillo.
Translation: Come on, give it to me. (a command)
American Example :We're going to the mall, meh. (another command: we're going to the mall and that's final)
its something you say when you have a temper tantrum. instead of yelling, you just say "meh" but you have to push something over to really give its effect.
