Standard Time

The sense of time we used to experience, as we tried and failed to reclaim it on November 1, 2020.

She awoke on November 1, 2020, eight months into Covid world, four years in the Trumpian alternative universe, and found herself trying to name the daze of the week, wondering how many of them until November 3, 2020, when something or nothing might change, maybe a few months or hours, who could say, and was reminded that she was back on Standard Time. It sounded so nice. She was sure it used to mean something...

McCarthy Standard Time

The time difference from your chosen time zone (BST, EST, ECT. etc) to the one being used by a terrible time keeper. Usually meaning they will vastly underestimate the time they need to complete a task or overestimate how fast they can travel somewhere, making them the constant reason for delays in planning and execution of group activities.

Cal: I’ll be home in 10 minutes and load up a playlist as soon as i get online. So… gimme 20 minutes and we’re set.

Dan: Is that GMT or McCarthy Standard Time?

Jack: See you in an hour Cal. 🙄

Attitudal Time

A set time during the day that is when a woman has a automatic attitude and does not want to be bothered. Usually focused towards her children and partner and specifically set during hrs when interaction is possible. Used to avoid dealing with real life grown up situations such as bills speaking about relationship issues or just to avoid contact at all cost.

I wanted to speak to you about the light bill yet I realized it was during your attitudal time, so I text you instead.
