1)Urbane is a word descrbing sceney mac users/npr listeners. they drive smart cars or hybrids and drink black coffee while reading soren kirkegaard and other obscure philosphers at starbucks. if not black coffee, green tea or septuple shot espresso! gotta get through all of those poetry slams somehow! are poets, artists, designers, or actors like moby. they live in williamsburg (brooklyn) or upper west side in a studio/loft, but can live anywhere. self-procalimed "urban Sophisticates". very pretentious, but REALLLLLY fun to talk about/act like! they also have obscure names, like gustav or charlton or manet.
2) Can mean really polished and sophisticated in a broad sense of the word.
1)Katharine- Look at them, over there, reading the arts section of the Sunday Times, listening to NPR podcasts, sipping their tazo. geez, if they had any bigger heads, they's knock over their new macbook airs!
Amanda- haha. I bet they live in williamsburg or something. well, at least they can chat about the advantages of sophocles versus plato in their little smart cars.
Katharine- But people like that don't chat. They have intelligent forums of conversation.

Urbanism is the fascination with and desire to improve cities. Most urbanists despise suburbs and want to increase population density in cities. Most urbanists also want expansion of public transit, due to negative environmental and land use effects of cars, as well percieved negative social impacts of their use.
There are different factions within the urbanist movement, such as left-wing urbanists, who advocate rent for rent control, public housing, and free public transit; market urbanists, who believe that zoning laws should be relaxed or eliminated and that rent control would cause less housing to be built; New Urbanists, who have a particular focus on walkable communities, and green urbanists, who particularly value sustainability and emissions reductions. However, all urbanists agree that actions need to be taken to decrease sprawl and car use, and that cities need more population density.
Da'Qwhonn'Drée is an urbanist; i.e. someone who believes in Urbanism; he wants to nuke the suburbs.

"Urban" has nothing to do with liberals, and doesn't inherently have anything to do with race. it means "having to do with the city", including city life, style, etc.
City style is largely driven by blacks, and thus urban style often refers to black urban style. However, it doesn't necessarily, as graffiti is considered urban, but is done by all races. Thus, indirectly, urban culture implies black culture in certain contexts. The people who post here are so dumb that they then equate "black" and "urban", and manage to blame it on liberals. Typical of dumb conservatives. Maybe they should spend more time thinking about how selfish their elitest policies are and stop blaming things on people who care about those who are less fortunate and the environment, on which we depend.

2. A grave sickness contracted from living in the midst of an urban city dwelling or lifestyle,
3. Often a breaking point when one goes insane and is overwhelmed with a feeling to leave everything behind and go 'Hippy Commando' out in the backwoods or the middle of nowhere.
