Womansplaining

A woman's habit of rationalizing the most stupid and illogical things ad nauseum in order to appear smart or empathetic. Also used to explain away their own bullshit by deflecting it and making it seem like there's something wrong with you

Jackie has been womasplaining how setting rat traps is mean despite the fact that rats spread disease for the last three hours.

Ivette has been womansplaining how it was rude of me to ask her to take her call in the other room instead of sitting 3 inches from me while I'm watching this movie that has been on for 45 minutes - because she was "talking low"

Womansplaining

Similar to mansplaining, but instead of patronizing dialogue, she feels the need to explain her emotions and/or reason for her stated comment.
Usually happens when a woman feels the need to reconcile after her statement.

Ex. A
Coworker 1 : After John said “how much longer?”, Sally gave a long explanation on all the reasons for the wait instead of just telling him the time.

Coworker 2 : “Oh she was just womansplaining.”

Ex. B
Guy_gamer-1 - “Give me free stuff.”

Girl_gamer - “How many times is this guy gonna ask for free stuff?”

Guy_gamer-2 - “Damn why you say that?”

Girl_gamer - **very long description on how many times the guy_gamer-1 has asked for free stuff and goes on to explain how she was feeling for each of those times**

Girl_gamer - “Now he knows not to do that again.”

Womansplaining

a non-word erroneously used as gendered equivalent to 'mansplaining' for a condescending woman.

A gendered word with a corresponding impact to 'mansplaining' does not exist.

MANSPLAINING contains an element that is often overlooked: It's the systemic cultural conviction embedded in societies that women cannot truly be competent, cannot be more competent than a man, and that her opinion carries less value.

Mansplaining is anchored in sexism.

It's part of the male entitlement that a man who has little to no expertise but a lot of 'opinion', often enough talks nonsense (sharing factually incorrect non-proven information), will be and IS taken seriously. Why? Because that has been the rule for centuries.

In 'WOMANSPLAINING' i.e. women being condescending to men, the element of power is missing:

Even though she condescends to him, neither he nor those in his environment will doubt his competence. Her condescension has no impact besides the personal.
With mansplaining, that's different as others are likely to buy-in and fundamentally question the woman's competence.

Thus, just like in racism, white people can and do experience discrimination but not racism because the systemic power element is missing for them, men can and do experience condescension from women but not 'womansplaining' because the repercussions on the perception of their competence is absent for men.

She was womansplaining to me.

No: She was condescending. I understand how annoying that is, but it is really not the same thing as mansplaining.

Womansplaining

1. Lying whilst concurrently making no rational sense.
eg "I said I graduated but I was exaggerating"
2. Talking effusively on a subject the speaker has no knowledge of
eg "The gender wage gap is.."
3. Assembling a random jumble of words with the sole goal being a denial of any accountability.
eg "So and like anyway, um yeah like, I don't think I was like even there that day, but like, if I was I wouldn't even like, plus you said like..."

4. Also see "Gaslighting"
