Basically a variation on skanking. Which was a dance you did while listening to ska or punk rock music. Skanking is usually done in a circle pit. 2-stepping is done usually during a breakdown of some hella brutal metal music. You don't go around the pit or anything. You usually just stay in once place and 2-step that shit. Hardcore dancing is sometimes referred to as "hardcore 2-stepping" or "slam dancing".
"Fuck skanking, I wanna 2-step!", "Let's 2-step at the show tonight."
FYI: I have no problem with skanking. I'd rather skank to Reel Big Fish or Rancid than hardcore dance to some crazy hardcore music.

A step up is someone in a group of people or friends who does all the awkward shit that's embarrassing just on there own. Making you or everyone else feel superior. Meaning that you are viewed as a step up higher than them popularity wise.
"Tim was being so werid tonight at the party, he really is such a step up. He did do so much werid and awkward things, I am pretty sure the whole group felt more popular than him on a higher level."

1st Step Father: the guy you think will be the best father figure youll ever get in your life. he doesn't really talk much, just sits around and plays video games but i guess you cant really complain for 10 years.
1st Ex Step Father: when your mom divorces your first step dad cause he's lacking in personality, he marries an evil bitch who makes him her puppet, disowns you cause you were never his real kid in the first place, and is just a complete dick all around.
2nd Step Father: 3rd times the charm for your mom! Real dad isn't really around a whole lot and when he is we dont get along. 1st step dad didnt go well. But 2nd Step Dad is a dream come true! By now your two old to open up to a "father figure" but he's the best damn big brother you could ever ask for! He looks out for ya, hangs out with you, boxes with ya, wants to beat up the people at school who hurt you, plays rock band with you till no end, and just flat out is an all around cool guy.

real father: *ignores you and continues playing with his new baby from his 3rd wife*
