An ineffective limp wristed confusing threat. A phrase that is intended to replace “I’m gonna kick your ass” but would most likely leave the threatened party believing that the person uttering this phrase is romantically interested in them.
I’ve had enough of your shit, I’m gonna take you to prom.
Something you should never say on a first date, as it will ruin the sexual tension between you and your partner. Should only be used as a way to get out of an awkward date.
Ted: I think i’m in love with you.
Robin: What?
This can be either serious or ironic. If uncertain, please refer to said person’s vocabulary, their mental health history, and the specific situation before responding accordingly. If you’re still unsure, it’s best to ask the person how they meant it and try to be supportive because it can be risky to accidentally brush it off as sarcastic when it isn’t. Always show the ones you care about that you care!
It can be used to represent two different emotions:
1. The person actually wants to kill themself. Typically not used in a joking conversation but use what you know about the person before responding. Do they say it often? Did they end the statement with a period? Did they say sorry/thanks before or after? If they seem sad or reserved, please check in on them. Especially if they start a conversation like this and don’t immediately follow it up with something annoying that happened.
2. This person is either frustrated or embarrassed. Something shitty probably happened to them and this is how they’re expressing that emotion. Feel free to remain wary if someone uses this too much however, because there’s a chance it could be a cry for help. However, try to avoid pointing it out mid-conversation to avoid awkwardness or discomfort. If you can, try to check in on your friend more and make time for them; suffering or not, I’m sure they appreciate it
1: text messages
-“hey friend, I'm gonna kill myself tonight
-life sucks and I just cant do it anymore

-<3”
2: also text messages
-“broooo
-im gonna fucking kill myself
-you’ll never believe what Joe said to me
-shit was so embarrassing idk how im ever gonna go back again
-story”
3: irl conversation, ambiguous meaning
“I swear, if Stacy’s mom doesn’t let me hit I’m gonna commit several felonies and then I’m gonna kill myself"
People are always telling you to calm down and you get sick and tired of them saying that so you
“say you’re not calmed up”
Oh Suzanne would you just calm down
No I’m not calmed up
