Cancel Culture

Cancel culture is a toxic group of immature and/or narcissistic people looking to online shame, or “cancel” popular icons for minor accusations, later proven to be false. People often find celebrities they don’t like, point out a somewhat offensive thing they said years ago, or often photoshop tweets or DM’s, then assemble a mob to attack said celebrity. Often it is with the sole intent of destroying a celebrity they don’t like’s reputation, or gaining more followers themselves by being known as politically correct, when they are really racists themselves seeking to hate on other, non-racists. (Usually celebrities). Cancel culture can often involve racist accusations, but also sexism, anti-semitism, anti-LGBT, sexual abuse, animal abuse, harassment, or otherwise questionable tweets.

Person 1: I feel bad for John over some photoshopped tweets from years ago.
Person 2: I know right, if you don’t like a celebrity, just say that, don’t try to cancel them.
Person 1: Yeah, cancel culture and mob mentality really destroyed his career.

love culture

A clothing store for teens and young adults. Most of the clothes are preppy and just plain ugly, but some are okay.

Fashionista: OMG! Look at these shirts I got at Love Culture, they are totally cute!

Cancel Culture

A controversial social trend characterized by use of electronic communication usually in the form social media; mob mentality; the acting of individuals not appointed by any government as accuser, judge, jury, and executioner regarding a perceived (often not actually illegal or thoroughly investigated) moral infraction; and deliberate use of shaming to damage to the victim's financial, psychological, and social well- being as punishment rather than usual forms of justice.

While cancel culture is seen by some to deliver justice to evil people that never received it and therefore protects their victims, others criticize it for lacking features of proper justice.

anti-culture

The term "anti-culture" describes the group (referred to as cults) that have no culture whatsoever and therefore latch on to what is.

This creates a need to become dependant on each other, needing validation, resulting in one individual.

bob bobbington: wow! fred, you are so original.

fred freddly: yeh i know, yesterday i went to a hard core rock club for 12-17 year olds and they played green day. green day rock!!

bob bobbington: wow, you are so cool. hardly anyone listens to green day apart from me.

fred freddly: I have bought the latest album.

bob bobbington: as have i.

fred freddly: i'm bored of it now

bob bobbington: me too... oo look system of a down just brought out an album, let us cheapen the value of their real fans and become obsessed for the pure sake of it.

fred freddly: yay! this is my fave pastime.

non-cult person: you have no individuality!

fred freddly: we are so individual, your just emo!

Cultural Marxism

1. A far-right antisemitic conspiracy theory which claims Western Marxism as the basis of continuing academic and intellectual efforts to subvert Western culture. The conspiracists claim that an elite of Marxist theorists and Frankfurt School intellectuals are subverting Western society with a culture war that undermines the Christian values of traditionalist conservatism and promotes the cultural liberal values of the 1960s counterculture and multiculturalism, progressive politics and political correctness, misrepresented as identity politics created by critical theory.

The conspiracy theory of Marxist culture war is promoted by right-wing politicians, fundamentalist religious leaders, political commentators in mainstream print and television media and white supremacist terrorists. Scholarly analysis of the conspiracy theory has concluded that it has no basis in fact and is not based on any actual intellectual tendency.

2. In common usage in the wild — a common snarl word used to paint anyone with progressive tendencies as a secret Communist. The term alludes to a conspiracy theory in which sinister left-wingers have infiltrated media, academia, and science, and are engaged in a decades-long plot to undermine Western culture. Some variants of the conspiracy allege that basically all of modern social liberalism is, in fact, a Communist front group.

"The fairytale of cultural Marxism provided a post-communist adversary located specifically in the cultural realm – academics, Hollywood, journalists, civil rights activists and feminists."

cultural appropriation

The practice of using something from another culture that you're not a part of.

Miley Cyrus had dreads. Only black people can have dreads. That's cultural appropriation.
