bogan-chic

A worrying trend amongst the younger Austalian generation that involves middle class kids emulating the horrors of bogan fashion. Examples include the wearing of tight stone washed jeans, metal tshirts from the early eighties and expensive neo-mullet hair cuts.

"Simon's new outfit cost him $550. Good thing his parents are loaded. This bogan-chic bullshit is getting out of hand."

Geek Chic

Dress almost identical to hipsters but verge more towards being into comic books, pop culture, technology, etc. rather than hipsters who are more into poetry, brooding, and generally being pretentious.

Person #1: Hey, do you see that Hipster reading X-men on his iPhone?

Person#2: Yeah but that guy's totally geek chic, not a pretentious hipster.

punk chic

Short-lived fashion trend popular with mostly female preteens and typified by fraudulent "punk artists" such as Avril Lavigne, Lillix, etc.

Punk chic is the desire to appear rebellious or hardcore, while also appearing cute or attractive. Unlike classic punk, the mowhawk doesn't feature, the basic uniform consists of flat-ironed hair, either undyed or with a wussy wash out colour applied to it, heavy eyeliner, pink or imitation leather cuffs from Hot Topic or Claire's, sweatbands, Converse All Stars and a tanktop or shirt, either imitation vintage or featuring a band that the wearer does not listen to. Younger punk chic followers are normally seen wearing shirts with moronic slogans like "Girls Rock" or "Punk Kitty".

They are either unashamedly pop oriented or appear to be credible by professing to like a list of bands that their older siblings listen to.

Many pioneers of this blip in fashion history have since ditched the ties and gone gothic chic since Avril is out and Evanescence is in.

Punk chic has no bearing on any other form of punk.

chic attire

Typically reserved for promoted events' dress code. Means upscale and stylish clothing. IE, no sports wear, saggin' pants, or Jersey shore douchbag shirts, or loud rave like attire. Basically looking like you are educated, have a real job, and actually can dress like a responsible adult looking to have a good time out whether it's a evening event or a daytime pool party.
