When someone takes a picture of themselves looking ugly or funny and sends it to their friends to get them to laugh. People who do this are not trying to look good and usually don't. The typical selfie face involves a peace sign and duck lips.

Created by a drunk Australian back in 2013. Taking a picture of your face and putting it online, which wouldn't be such a great idea if you're ugly. If you're ugly, you'd get comments saying "Damn girl you're ugly" and that would hurt your feelings. If you take 10-20 selfies a day, you're probably a whore, and or don't have much of a life. Today, people have their own stick to take their so called "Selfies". better used as a sex toy. I love to photobomb selfies. Girls hate it when I do that. I nearly got killed with a selfie stick for photobombing, I'd just say it was worth it. Anyways, selfie is when you take a picture of you and your face. With usually a cool background, but nobody can see the background because it's all blurry because the camera can only focus on your face. Sometimes, people take selfies with people, which complete defeats the purpose of a selfie. It should be called a "groupie" which is even more gayer.

'Selfie' now refers to a picture taken by anyone at all with literally any amount of people in it, provided you (the uploader) are in it as well.

Just how the word 'literally' was literally misused so much that its meaning was officially changed to include the formerly incorrect definition, so the word selfie has a history of misuse so that it can now also refer to a photo taken with a camera. The person who took the photo can call it a selfie because they themselves took the photo.

A form of mental illness in which a self-obsessed ego maniac takes a picture of themself. They make shitty faces in the camera and use crappy filters. Then the post it on Instagram or Twitter with #selfie or some other #. Or really these idiots can post it on any other damn site. A lot of times mentally ill people take a selfie of doing something bad. Watch the news. You'll see.
