Either way you can't figure out what they are. So, here they are: SHANTS-Shorts that go past your knees, sagging from your ass, and just stopping short from reaching your shoes. Half shorts-half pants.

n. a combination of the words "shorts" and "pants." refers to a garment intended for wear on one's legs which, when positioned properly with the waistband at the junction of the ass and thigh, falls at the ankles. the wearer will, in any and all circumstances, assuredly look stupid.
