In many ways like a chain fail, but which tends to propagate down a line like a domino effect. That is, if when A fails then B fails, and when B fails then C fails, then if A fails, C fails.

Because Craig did not have the sales figures, the client fired Craig. Craig, in turn, reported Becka's habitual tardiness to management, which got her fired. Since when Adam failed, Becka failed; and when Becka failed, Craig failed, Adam created a transitive fail.
Astronomical fail. Something going so wrong as to require an extra adjective (astronomical) to accurately describe how terribly awful something went. Can also be used to describe a person who fails at something or just life in general.
