The gratuitous introduction of a lesbian character, characters,relationship or situation in order to boost flagging interest in a television, or comic series. Usually happens in the fourth or fifth season of the series lifespan. The intent is more to spark interest with provocative girl on girl action than to create diversity.
The classic example would be Willows outing in the last few seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Willow and Tara would be the 5th season lesbians.

A Sport-season friend is somewhat like a fair-weather friend, except you're only friends with them during/because of a certain sport season. They mostly come in the form of teammates, coaches, or fans. Sport-season friends are usually people that you would not have otherwise gotten to know, so integrating them into your primary group of friends is often difficult. While the friendship occasionally extends into other parts of the year, it is at its strongest during the sports season. They are very prominent among high school athletes--especially when there are age/social rank differences.
Kid 1: Hey, there goes Jesse. Why didn't you say "hi"?
Kid 2: Well, he's just a sport-season friend, anyhow.

This is when it starts getting colder and guys prefer looking for thicker women to cuddle up with and stay warm than the skinnier woman they looked for in the Summertime. This usually occurs during the late Fall and all Winter months.

Mating season usually happens when the weather starts changing. There's a positive correlation between the amount of couples that get together and the change in weather. People just go crazy to be with someone. And anti mating season usually happens right before mating season and everyone just starts splitting up. You know its mating season when you start to hear the lawn mowers and the birds chirping.

Normally during the first two months of the year and the last two months of the year when you work even harder to fulfill a purpose .

Excuse that compulsive bingo players use when they are not winning. No one actually knows when the bingo season starts or ends.
