The newest album by Green Day. It gained much attention from the middle school punk/goth crowd because it's first single, "American Idiot", was the only form of rock music played on MTV. It has also recieved recognition from trendy subcult stores such as Hottopic who manufactured shirts, pins, patches, and other various merchandise to promote this album. This lead to the subculture-seeking teenyboppers to go out and buy the album in order to rightfully own that uber trendy Green Day tank top they saw at the mall. This greatly pisses true Green Day fans off. And though it is true that Dookie and Nimrod are exceptional albums, I assure you that there is life before Dookie.
American Idiot sucks, go listen to some Kerplunk.

A person born in America that is of Irish descent. Despite what others seem to think, an Irish-American person may have not been to Ireland, but this does not deny the existence of Irish in their blood. Millions of Irish immigrants fled to America even until the 1930's and settled thus creating families and spreading their blood lines. If ones' great grandparents or such came from Ireland, does that Irish blood not carry on to them even though they happened to born in America? Someone could easily have Irish parents and be born in Russia, or anywhere for that matter, but they are are still Irish no matter what country they happen enter the world into.
These are just a few great Irish-Americans. Ronald Reagan, James Cagney, Errol Flynn, Frank & Malachy McCourt, and many other greats.

A term usually used to referred to Americans of African ancestry. Most in the Americas (and Caribbean) are the descendants of slaves that were brought to the New World by Europeans during the Trans-atlantic Slave Trade. There has been some small controversy over whether to identify Black Americans as African-Americans, as a result of the little identity that many Black Americans have to Africa(e.g., in most Black families, you have to go back an ample number of years to actually find the AFRICAN ancestry; Also, most Blacks in the Americas are not just pure African, as a result of the slave trade and other race mixing throughout the years.) The terms however are used interchangeably, although Black Americans, for example are not able to aply for some of the same scholarships as actual Africans. This, as everyone else, is a unique group of people. Many members of this race are unfairly discriminated against, as a result of racial stereotyping, however, unlike many perceptions, many do not let this stop them from achieving their full potential. However, this, as previously stated, is a wonderful race of people, that has achieved much in the long struggle for equality. Unlike other definitions, ALL Black people are not trifling, uneducated, lazy, ignorant, and other degrading adjectives.
Anonymous Person #1: Is there a difference between Black Americans and Africans that come here?
Anonymous Person #2: Well, there are but the terms African-American and Black American are used interchangeably.
