Scene Hair

Scene hair is user defined. There is no set way to look or dye your hair. there are but only guidelines. One of the key guidelines is that you don't have to match. you can wear a purple shirt with pink pants and neon yellow sweater under the shirt. The more contrasting the better in some cases.

Some of these guidelines entail that you grow out the front of your hair so your bangs cover your eye(s). You also dye your hair and put bright colors, solid or partial, in the bangs, the fringe, or in the underside of your hair.

some of the guidelines that are specific to girls are: You wear bows and hair clips mostly for the look rather than to hold your hair up and back. you wear anything that makes you stick out such as a Tu-Tu. Wear big retro glasses if you want to.

Someguidelines that are more slanted towards guys are as follows. you can do anything with your hair but it is usually going to be kept shorter than a girls scene hair style.

To conclude, all you have to do in essence is be yourself and have fun with it.

Some examples of Scene Hair styles can be seen in bands such as:

Metro Station, The Medic Droid, and the Maine.

Other than that browse through, www.photobucket.com, google images, and other scene/emo hairstyle blogs and/or sites.,

scene kid

usually between the ages of 14-18. They are an interesting species. a typical scene kid will claim to love cupcakes, diamonds, hello kitty and basically anything shiny or pink.

Photography is a big thing in a scene kids world. they often write in their 'about me' sections on myspace that they want to be a photographer and prove how good they are at photography by posting pictures they took, usually consisting of an inanimate object (mostly cupcakes) in black and white.

all scene kids strive to be internet famous just like their heroes (Audrey Kitching, Jeffree Star etc) and thrive on being the cause of internet drama and love when people start rumours about them so they can bitch about that person and make bulletins bad mouthing them.

They have a "dont fuck with me" kinda attitude and admit to being shallow and arrogant and always claim to not give a shit of what people think of them when really thats all they care about.

screen names are sacred in the scene kid culture. typical screen names include things such as "CaitlinxChaos" and "SallyxSuicide".

their hobbies include dying and cutting their own hair. most scene kids will have more than one colour in their hair and the style will consist of multi, uneven layers with short choppy layers on top, and long straight hair extensions down the bottom.

scene kid #1: "I plan on making something out of my life. I have a passion for hairstyling/make-up application and as soon as I'm finished high school, I am going to cosmetology school."

scene kid #2: "i dont care about hatemails. they actually amuse me. you don't even know me
to have the right to send me some. don't think you'll get my attention then. you can call me vain.
i'm not."

hardcore scene

A branch of punk music that started in the 80s with harder, faster music than say, the Ramones. Examples of hardcore bands: Black Flag, Minor Threat, Circle Jerks, Agnostic Front. It has recently been butchered by emo and now people are calling bands such as Hawthorne Heights hardcore. Don't believe them.

Check your local hardcore scene and see if there are any real hardcore bands left.

Ska Scene

The Ska Scene is followed by people who listen and dance to ska. There are two common ways people in the ska scene dress, one in fiftees suits and dresses, bowler hats, and over sized sunglasses. The other is wearing jeans, tourists floral shirts, band t-shirts, Vans, saddle shoes, and alot of black and white checkered anything. People in the ska scene are sometimes said to look to be out of an old detective movie with no sound. People in the ska scene often have a sense of humor and are quick to laugh and make sarcastic comments, but are very friendly. Ska sceners tend to hang out with the punks and people in the new wave, but are friendly with any group (except chavs, and townies). People in the ska scene also enjoy listening to bands like "The Clash", and "The Doors". People involved in this scene tend to be happy and upbeat, because if you have ever listened to ska music, you'd know how happy it sounds.

scene poser

A scene poser is someone who tries to be scene because they think that it is cool, but aren't really scene. They suddenly change themselves completely. They start wearing different clothes, acting different, hanging with different people; all because it is 'cool'.

You can tell they are not scene because they were known differently before they suddenly changed themselves and don't know much about being scene at all. They just did it because they want to be 'in' and 'cool'.

Hey, who is that girl?"
"It's Amy."
"That preppy girl?"
"Yeah."
"What happened to her?"
"She became a scene poser."
