Bogan Band

A hairstyle generally sported by young bogan men, consisting of a thin strip of hair bleached blonde around the edge of the hairstyle. Usually about 1cm in diameter and never more than 3 or 4cm.

May be used stylishly in combination with a mullet or rat tail. And for those with discerning taste, not to be used without a large rectangular patch of hair on back or back left of the head, bleached also.

This haircut is most effective with black or brown hair.

This is a new trend amongst Australian youth of low socio-economic background (see bogan dero ), and although not as prevelent as the mullet or rat tail as yet, it appears to be only gaining popularity.

people who suck ass, musically and form a group. thus, combining their non existent abilities for numerous reasons.

Principally from the 80's.

Any one of a loose class of rock and roll bands sharing any number of similarities, but typified by long, elaborately messy, overblown hairstyles.

The implication that the hair is perhaps the most substantive thing about such a band or thier music.

See, for example: Motley Crue, Guns -n- Roses, Warrant, Stryper, etc., and to a lesser degree, Def Leppard, Bon Jovie, and so on.

The last of great music, ever. It's actually hair metal. The hardest rock around. The best bands in the world. These bands actually had talent and the tunes kick so much ass. After hair bands, there was a shitty trend called "grunge" which totally blows, along with all other music.

not the band

phrase you say to music lovers after you say a certain word that may be a band name. A friend of mine always said this to me after he said certain words because he knows I love music. Other variations of this phrase include "Not the singer", "Not the song", "Not the rapper", "Not the group", and "Not the music style". When you say a word that may be a singer's last name, you'd say this:
Mark: Go straight.
Karen: Not George Strait!
Amy: Watch out for that branch!
Karen: Not Michelle Branch!
