It hunts you down and has some songs about it, such as Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom (Creeper Rap) by Dan Bull and Revenge (Creeper Aww Man) by CaptainSparklez and Tryhardninja. They are commonly associated with Minecraft, popular culture and gaming in general.

1. It's those annoying nuisance in the Minecraft game that tends to ruin everything by just walking past it. It looks like a green demonic octopus that explodes but doesn't give you ink. However if you get bored of mining in Minecraft you can lure one there and explode it.
2. It's what you call people who read Creepypasta
