Somebody that says they get something they really don't so that people will pay attention to them, as seeking attention is always part of their agenda.
The poser said she got something everyone else said they got so that she wouldn't be the only one among them that didn't get it, she would be part of their group, she would see herself as being in with the group, even if not everybody did see in her what she saw in herself, as not everyone was looking through the same narcissistic lens.
A yuppie that calls other people yuppies.
The girl was a poser from another town, but still called other people not from the town she was in yuppies. She didn't want to be known as one of them, or as being with them.
Someone trying to push an agenda of equality, justice, and hope, even though none of it is anything to them, none of it was ever sacred enough to them to be anything to them. Two sides don't have to agree or get along to be equal, since equality never meant any two people ever had to get along or agree on anything. Equality also doesn't mean two people have to be friends because they are equal. People are not better or worse than their enemies.
The poser claimed to be for equality, justice, reform, and hope, but really those were all surface matters in her power struglle for control of a town she wasn't originally from, and one that would never really be anything to her besides a playground.

1. A person who buys a band t-shirt to try and be trendy.
Soundgarden’s badmotorfinger t-shirt was worn by a Kardashian on insta so top shop will stock it suddenly and 17 year old airhead posers will buy it.
One who attempts to make friends or become closer friends with a group of people by feigning interest in a particular area of culture (music, clothing, social activities).
Generally a poser is someone who lacked friends for not fitting in with any real group, they decided to become more like everyone to make friends. Sometimes they actually do become legitimately interested in the new groups lifestyle, but oftentimes they only pretend and lead a life of lies
"John thinks he's a punk rocker, I asked him about punk rock music, and he told me all about 'Teenagers' by My Chemical Romance and 'Know Your Enemy' by Green Day. I asked him what his other favorite songs by those bands were and he told me he thought they were one-hit wonders. I guess he's a bit of a poser"
Sidenote: Green Day is awesome but if you only listen to their most recent two albums, then you can't call yourself a fan... or knowledgeable about the subject.
Typically and Ass Man.
Often times a Tess.
Damn that poser drinking beer at work.
