South Asia

A geographical and political region of Asia bounded roughly by the Hindu Kush Mountains in the west, Indian Ocean in the south, Himalayas in the North and the Brahmaputra River in the east. Dominated by the Indian Peninsula it is also known as the Indian subcontinent. Politically it comprises the dominions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Burma. The island nations of Sri Lanka and Maldives are also part of the same region. Since the last century the primary export of the region has been skilled and unskilled labor which has found ground in several Western countries. A heavily populated and generally underdeveloped or developing region of South Asia commonly makes headlines for unrest, poverty and recently, terrorism. Plagued by illiteracy, corruption and extremism the society is characterized by large proportions of poor rural population and middle-class underpaid white collar workers concentrated in urban areas. Yet in terms of political, financial and social power, a handful of ultra-rich, businessmen, industrialist and feudal lords call the shots. Although the south Asian community in several western countries face episodes of racism, in reality most south Asians are racist themselves with deep-rooted grudges and stereotypes for all the different ethnicities and religions in the South Asian region and beyond.

Wife: Why is everything so chaotic and dirty here?
Man: Well.. You always wanted to come to South Asia.

South Carolina

Hey ya'll! Come on down to the Palmetto state where we were the first to succeed from the Union, and boy we're darn proud of that, so we show you by posting our confederate flags everywhere, especially on our beloved pickup trucks where our pet dogs slide around and about. Make sure to stop by Myrtle beach where all the hicks can give you hickeys and trash is a plentiful in the streets AND beach. Don't forget to drive through Rock Hill, established in the late 1800's, where you can stay at hotels steaming down those pesky trees, watch loggers coming to pick 'em up, stare at the walls for entertainment, and eat the best darned culturally-infused fast food with top notch service!

I wish I hadn't moved to South Carolina for two years of my life due to signing a relocation agreement in the name of money.

armpit of the south

Columbia, South Carolina. A city that is below sea level that traps heat and stays in the 100s but is not close to water. There is also little intelligence and all trees in the hell hole were cut down and turned to pavement. The city is full of ghetto and trailer parks, most graduates of the lowly Univ of South Carolina that produces educations less than academic standards of most developed nations.

Is there anyway to get between the great towns of Greenville and Charleston with out having to drive through the armpit of the south?

"My daughter got robbed at gunpoint in five points." Reply: "Oh you let her got to school in the armpit of the south."

The best thing that happened to the armpit of the south is when General Sherman burnt it to the ground.

south jersey

The southern and better part of New Jersey. Philadelphia is our city - we love our Phillies & Eagles (no matter how many times they let us down) and life without a WaWa is non-existant. Although many people out of state and/or country think we have a Philly/New York dialect (the Jersey Shore Cast), NONE of us talk like that down here. Maybe some up in NORTH jersey, but it's better down here, trust me. We don't even have what some of you people call a "South Jersey "accent - that just sounds weird and it's not even real..the person who made that up must've been talking to someone obviously not from around South Jersey and decided to call it a "South Jersey" accent. Anyway, most of us are friendly down here. We have the best of both worlds...lots of big cities and some country side, unlike North Jersey, all factories & smelly. We have fresh air to breathe. In the summer, we all go to the beaches.. the real Jersey Shores (Sea Isle, Ocean City, Wildwood, Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, etc.) . You can go on rides, go on the boardwalk, and enjoy the fresh ocean air. Even though South Jersey is the better half on NJ, nobody likes it. Ask anyone and the only reason they are probably staying in New Jersey is because of the beaches. We know everyone hates it, but hey, someone's gotta live here.

" Hey Bill, ever been to South Jersey?"

"Yeah man, it beats North Jersey by far. You can actually breathe down there. And the beaches rock."

"Whatever dude."
