The Porsche 928 first began production in 1977 and discountinued in 1995. The Porsche 928 has been filmed in dozens of movies including Canonball Run.

The 928 was Porsche's first water-cooled, front-engined, V8-powered sportscar. The 928 has the distinction of being the very first "clean-sheet" Porsche and was fully Porsche engineered, except for the Mercedes-Benz automatic transaxle (which went into a specially designed Porsche housing) for those cars so equipped.

Porsche 928, is one of the most expensive cars ever made by Porsche. By comparison to a 911 (Beetle Sport), they cost twice as much (a beetle) when they were new....
