AMV

Short for Anime Music Video made by splicing anime clips to compile them together and publish. Depending on said anime, the video will generally be made by:

1. A glomping fangirl who wish to dedicate their love to their favorite anime character through video

2. A small child who thinks just slapping random PokΓ©mon clips to Linkin Park makes it ΓΌber-cool (which is wrong in many ways)

3. A casual video editor who puts some average time (and even a little bit money at times) into a normal, fan-made video featuring their favorite music

4. A contest fanatic who still remains behind the border of average anime fandom that puts a great amount of time into the process

"Hey dude, I made an AMV and stuck it up on YouTube last night."
"Nice. I'll be sure to check it out later."

AMV

An AMV is acronim for "Anime Music Video" It is when an anime fan, takes clips of their favorite anime and mash them together cleverly, putting it to music. A good AMV consists of nice timing, a good, fitting song, clear, vivid clips, and an author/creators note on what song was used, if the viewers so wish to look up the song if they like it. Many people have stated that the are stupid videos, with only Linkin Park for crappy music. This statement is false. It uses many bands, singers and even rappers. They can express various emotions such as sadness, happiness, anxiousness, grief, and many others.

A very well put together, elite AMV, is "This is War-30 seconds to Mars- Fullmetal Alchenist AMV (FULL)" It evokes tears of happiness, for those who have watched the series and have seen shat both the main characters have gone through. It holds spoilers for the end of the series, "Fullmetal Alchemist: Brothehood", so it would be wise not to watch it if you have not een it all.

AMV

Short for anime music video. Created by splicing together a song and clips from an anime series together to create a video. Identifiable by their big file size.

If you watch too many AMVs, you are stupid. But a few is ok. Like me. ^_^

The virus that is infecting youtube. Stands for "Anime Music Video" and is made my obssesed anime losers who have nothing better to do with themselves. Most of the time they are made with linkin park songs,(usually in the end or some other shit made by them -.-) or some annoying low budget song from smackdown vs raw. Good luck finding your favorite anime moment, cuz chances are its an AMV. Happy hunting! =)

AMV

An AMV is a scene, or a series of scenes cut from some popular anime (most often, scenes featuring a fight, or a montage of events during the show that are in some way linked to one another) with some pop music blaring in the background, replacing whatever audio was actually used in the scene(s). These videos are unfortunately made for the sole reason that (once the AMV's creator has written in the uploader comments that they don't claim ownership to the song or the show used in the AMV, and that it was fan made) it is the only way to put anime up on youtube, without the risk of having the video removed, or the creator's account suspended. I don't like anime or pop music, but I have a very hard time imagining anyone liking these things. And I imagine that anime fans just want to see the scene in its original form without having to torrent the episode, or find some other site that will allow them to watch the anime for free. No matter what, in the end everyone's angry, as the show's fans will just get mad that they had to listen to some obnoxious pop song's loud opening note, and end up watching the scene they were looking for free on some other site, the anime studio will still get mad at not making money off of people watching their show, and youtube will get mad since they can't remove the AMV from the site to make the anime studio happy as it was fan made. I'll stick to a good ol' YTPMV if I want some loud obnoxious music playing behind some edited animation.

Seriously youtube, nobody likes AMVs. Just let people get a bunch of stinking views off of a show's fanbase by uploading a fight scene or two from the anime studio's show. It's not like they're stealing paying fans from the anime, what's more likely, is that by allowing people to see a clip from an anime for free and in poor quality on youtube, the anime will gain paying fans, and in the end make more money off of their show than they would by removing the video.
