Purchasing an item on Amazon to use briefly with no intention of keeping it. This is often done to impress others or to address a short term problem.

George: Brah, I just scored a gig to play at a huge music festival. I'm going to look like a schlep with this shitty guitar I have.

Ken: Amazon rental to the rescue!

George: Say what?

Ken:. Buy it and return it like a month later. It's a win win. You'll be drowning in roadie ass for free!

George: Genius!
