Bentonites have heads that swell 5 to 6 times their original volume in the presence of large amounts of grassroots donations. Bentonites are most useful in sucking up to establishment Republicans, sabotaging political campaigns, paying themselves outrageous salaries, and betraying liberty.

The word became popularized during the 2012 Ron Paul Presidential Campaign.
