He is also known for poisoning people's drinking water by blowing off the tops of mountains to extract thin seams of coal and for busting unions so that miners cannot voice their claims about safety violations.
As the head of Massey Energy, Don Blankenship is criminally responsible for 29 deaths at Massey Energy's Upper Big Branch mine in West Virginia due to his repeated failure to listen to his miners about safety problems in his mines, especially those dealing with ventilation. He should spend the rest of his life in jail for these failures.
