The addition of diacritical marks to letters that are of no particular aid to pronunciation, in an attempt to appear more worldly or sophisticated.

Joe: They tell me you're from Lindstrom, MN
Sven: That's Lindström.
Joe: Oh, go blow it out your ass. That's just some diacritic bling to make your shitty old hometown seem cool.
