Gnarnia

This term is derived from the root words gnar gnar & Narnia. Gnar being that of freshly laden snow, typically in the form of soft powder which is ideal for skiing, and Narnia being a mythical land from the mind of C.S. Lewis' novel, The Chronicles of Narnia. The combination of words creates "Gnarnia," a sought after, magical place in which the landscape is so perfect for shredding that it is nearly surreal.

"Dude, the conditions on Schweitzer were so flawless today. I thought I had stumbled into Gnarnia."

gnarnia

Whistler Mountain Bike Park... The best Mountain Bike Park on the planet. Especially the Garbanzo Zone...Garbanzo is so steep, technical, and rocky that it is a permanently closed area once the snow arrives. I.e. it is closed to ski/snowboarding in the winter... it puts the Gnar in Gnarnia

The snow is melting in Gnarnia... soon we will rip Goats Gully, Freight Train, and O-Sin!

Chronicles of Gnarnia

(noun, plural)

Records in any recordable form, of compelling events having taken place.

Not just any events, however - said events must be:

-outlandish
-fantastical
-neutral to bad
-difficult to believe for those not present
-able to be described as "gnarly" or "gnar-gnar"

Social Media is the most commonly used medium for the recording of such gnar events, but it is not reliant upon this medium. Journals and diaries are another common form.

Brian: that was a crazy show last night!

Rob: I know right? Can't believe we got out of there in time.

Brian: oh yeah we sure did. That swarm of rats seemed more ready to party than we were hahah

Rob: omg so gnarly dude. This is definitely going down in the Chronicles of Gnarnia.

Brian: lol already on it

Rob: shred the gnar
