a low income neighborhood in Hoffman Estates Illinois that is often portrayed as "ghetto" when really it's not. It's called the gov because a street called Governers Drive runs right through it and all the streets in the neighborhood are on both sides of it

The ending to a website which indicates that you should probably not believe a single word from any site that has this at the end of its url because it's also used by the government and ya know how trustworthy they are

Gov is a short form for government. It's 2 chars shorter than the old "govt." with a period or one shorter than "govt" without a period. It should be pronounced long form, as "governmment". It's used in this exact way on Twitter. On micro-blogs, every character counts, hence dropping the t and period from govt.
