Jazzcore

A term coined in late 2009, a form of jazz, mixed with grindcore. in jazzcore you can find various instruments such as guitars, bass guitars, various percussion, Saxophones, Trumpets, Mandolins as with others. It has a brutal and technical sound but is also influenced with big band and lounge playing as well. another name could be jazz-grind as well. The concept of grindcore jazz, not to be confused with harcore punk and jazz, was unofficialy invented by a michigan local unsigned band SeVizary.

Jazzcore

A genre of music combining elements of Jazz, Hardcore, and Metal music. Though there are no official artists who consider themselves of the Jazzcore genre artists who play jazzcore may be influenced by acts such as:
Veil of Maya
IWrestledABearOnce
Chelsea Grin
Mastodon
Etc.

Jazzcore music is characterized by elements of a song, ie usually contain metal breakdowns, jazz chords, and hardcore riffs and leads, or possibly parts that combine all of these and more.

Typical instruments used in Jazzcore are:
Guitar
Bass
Drums(with double bass drumming)
Screamed vocals
Clean vocals
Potentially keyboards or synth

Guitars in Jazzcore usually tuned their strings down using varied tunings. While a metal guitarist might tune his strings in drop B tuning, a jazzcore guitarist might differ from that tuning (ie, B-F#-B-E-G#A, or A-F#-B-E-G#-A)
While metal guitarists may also use drop C tuning, a jazzcore guitarist may vary from this tuning by using cello tuning (C-G-D-A-B-E) This is done to make playing jazz chords and metal riffs at the same time a little bit easier.

There was this hella brutal jazzcore band that played tonight.

Post Avantgarde Jazzcore

A fake genre of music used as a retort to people who claim to listen to a bunch of made up genres of music in order to seem interesting.

Rumor has it, only one band ever existed. They played only one show to an empty room, recorded and mixed the show into a live album, produced one copy, and then never spoke or saw each other again. The album was recorded through an old walkman, and can only be played through player piano scrolls.

Man 1: I listen to very obscure music, shoegaze-acidhouse, downtempo-core, Post-doublecore, chamberfolk...
Man 2: Yes, I too only listen to post avantgarde jazzcore, but these plebeians will never understand it. Surely YOU, have heard of it...?
