kawataro

A mystic river creature from Japanese folklore, also known as kappa. Kawataro/Kappa loves cucumbers and may come across as vulnerable but they will drag people into the river to drown them. They are recognised by the bald patch on top of their head, outlined by wet hair, which is supposed to function like a camel hump/dent, the dent stores water so they can go onto the land.

Numerous residents from Niigata reported the sight of kawataro along the Shinano River in the mid of July

kawataro girl

A cute but savage way to describe a Karen whose hair is long but has thinning issues on top of the head (karma), resulting in a look resembling a Kappa aka Kawataro, a mystic creature from Japanese folklore.

Friend 1: wow, she is such a snake
Friend 2: yeah, she's kawataro girl, I should have known earlier
