A bicycle frame that uses two thin tubes running straight from the fork tube to the dropouts instead of the traditional top tube and chainstays. Developed in France, and literally means "unisex," since these bikes are acceptable for men to ride despite having a step-through design like a woman's bike.
Mixtes are often confused with fixies, bikes with a fixed gear. However, it's possible to have a mixte fixie. In France, the word is pronounced like "mixed," but in America it's pronounced "mixedy."
I'm building up a sweet mixte frame for my commuter.
Mixt is that one New York friend. He's a genius, handsome, chad, and never wrong. His voice is like music to your ears. He will carry you in any game, and when he doesn't, it's because he has yet to warm up. Always got your back. Also, the funniest in the group.
Every person needs a Mixt in their life.
