Neurotic

A word from the times of Sigmund Freud, It no longer used in modern Behavioral Science. So if you look this up in a real dictionary it will say "see Neurosis" which will then say "see Anxiety disorder"

---Neurotic, is a label to describe someone suffering from Neurosis, Neurosis is the term used for the "distress" caused by mental illness.

---I have found two sentence that give good understanding to the word.

1. Neurotic: poor ability to adapt to one's environment, an inability to change one's life patterns, and the inability to develop a richer, more complex, more satisfying personality

2. Neurotic: , On a scale of 1-10; Where 10 is the healthy optimistic well adjusted person with good coping skills to stress and change, that came from a well adjusted family, with no hang up or inhibitions that determent the quality of his life. So a score of 1, would be Neurotic.

3. Neurotic: A negative personality trait that make one prone to anxiety depression, that appears genetic

***4. Neurotic: A inharmonious balance between the ego, id, and super ego, Which affect the thoughts and behaviors produced from the ego. (Sigmund's definition)

5. Neurotic: Thoughts and behaviors deviant from social norms, and usually maladaptive.

---Not to be confused with Psychotic, which means to be out of touch with reality, Neurotic means to suck at dealing with reality.

"Know what your problem is, Shapiro? It's that you just have this really shitty way of looking at things, ya know? I don't have that problem. I just look at the dopeness. But you, it's like you just look at the wackness, ya know?"

Neurotic

An Epidemic.

Worse than the Bubonic Plague. A Mass Epidemic affecting Poor Urbanites and Socialites on an equal level. It leaves no room for Interpretation or a Happy Medium. Engaged in the complete malignment of one's sense of self and identity if there ever was such a thing.

By that definition, we are all neurotic, even the monks of the Himalayas who cater so carefully to their image of being oh so fucking zen. However, they didn't need to listen to 50 Cent to gain neurosis. Theirs was probably thanks to the mountain goats that sang their infectious and annoying tunes. Which is probably the reason they learned to tune out the world in the first place.
