Is short for Pre-relationship
When two people are having a serious relationship but still denying it.
Usually the prela will turn out in a relationship later on.
Emma: "Wow, you and Tim are getting really serious. It seems like your relationship is going well!"
Charlotte: "Naaah, we are not really in a relationship. We are just good friends who only see each other three times a week. It's not that we are dating anyone else and we do have sex. He even accidentally met my parents last week."
Emma: "So you guys are in a prela?"
"Our relationship is kinda serieus but not that serious. It's a prela!"
"No, we are not in a relationship! We are just in an exclusive friends-with-benefits relationsship, who see eachother a few times a week and having a date sometimes, but it's not really a relationship. It's more like a prela."
When you are dating someone for a period of time, with who you want to be in a relationship, but you are not official in a relationship with.
