The R160s are NTT (New technology trains) built for the New York City subway. They are the second B Division (letter trains) NTT trains, the first was the R143. They are Two models the R160A built by alstom and the R160B made by Kawasaki. The main difference between them are the propulsion sounds and other mechanical components (R160A uses alstom’s ONIX propulsion system, while the R160B uses Siemens SITRAC propulsion) they replaced older subway cars like the.R32, R38, R40, some R42 and R44 NYCT cars. They entered their first service in 2006. Their Car length Is: 60 ft 2.52 in, width: 9 ft 9.28 in, Height: 12 ft. Some of the cars are refurbished in 2017 due to hurricane sandy and the NYCT crisis
I missed riding the R160s on the Q line, especially from prospect park to Coney Island, now we have R46s and R68s :(
