Reactivary

1. An instant negative reaction to a concept that is not largely and fully comprehended by someone who thinks they understand said concept.

2. An instant negative reaction to news that was designed to be sensationalized for negative reaction.

3. A negative reaction by someone who thinks they understand what they are talking about but clearly don't because it has been debunked in the past with references, not necessarily by official information.

Person #1: What you are saying makes no sense and holds no water against official information. You know nothing about what you are talking about. Didn't you see the recent news?

Person #2: Have some self-control and stop being so reactivary.

Me: E. Jean Carroll did not prove that Donald Trump raped her. Cool your jets and stop being so reactivary.

Liberal head explodes in a triggered reactivary way

Karen: Reactivary??? Sorry. It doesnโ€™t appear in my OED
