The chronic antisocial inclination to either ghost someone or straight up lie, to avoid telling the truth, or especially to decline an offer or a date. Very prominent in Vancouver, Canada, especially in the dating scene.

"Did you get a date with that girl?"

"Nah, she's ghosting me. Bad case of Vancouver Syndrome I suspect"
