Wesleyan is the short name for Ohio Wesleyan University. It is a small, but renown liberal arts college in Delaware, Ohio with a student population of 1900. It was founded by Adam Poe, a financially successful banker in Central Ohio. Originally a men's college and member of the Ohio Five, Wesleyan became co-ed in 1878 when it merged with the Ohio Wesleyan Female College. The college retains an even division of female-male students. It has a large gay population, and, just like other liberal arts schools, is known for popular recreational marijuana use.

Student B: Hell no dude, it's Wesleyan. I'll probably become a writer, move to Brooklyn, and live in a box.
Note: While also very respectable schools, Wesleyan is neither Ohio Wesleyan nor Wellesley.

A prestigious university in Connecticut known for its activist student body and left-leaning political tenor. Often criticized for being precious and single-minded, it gets most of its attention in the New York Times with articles relating to naked dorms and demonstrations. In recent times the school has become known for its Hollywood connections and film student graduates. In general, the school's reputation for protests, piercings and an active LBGT scene occludes its stature as a traditional and well-regarded northeastern university.

A small liberal arts school known as OWU (Oh-Woo). Kids who get in have the impression that they can sail through, but the work is demanding and a lot of freshmen flunk out. The frat scene is very busy because there is nothing else to do in Delaware, Ohio. The students are smart and kind of preppy. It's a place where you can get an excellent education even though a lot of people haven't heard of it.
"Ohio Wesleyan? Isn't that near Des Moines?"
"Um, no. It's in Ohio, not Iowa you stupid East Coaster."

A small, private liberal arts college in central Ohio. Lots of preppies go there as well as a lot of smart kids who couldn't get merit or financial aid from Oberlin. Good Division III sports and an active Greek scene. A much better school than its national reputation.
