The Bird and the Cage Theory

A metaphor for when two people are in a relationship and Person 1 feels like they are a bird wanting to fly but are trapped inside of a cage (aka: Person 2).

It is basically a great way of telling someone you want to break-up due to your animalistic nature of being wild and free and not wanting to be tied down to them.

Anne: "Ricky, I'm feeling like our relationship is based off the Bird and the Cage theory.
Ricky: "Wait, what do you mean?"
Anne: "I mean that I'm a bird and you're a cage; I just want to fly."
Ricky: "Oh... *sobs uncontrollably*

Tom: "No, and keep the bird in its cage!"

A shelf, or part of a shelf, in a supermarket, where reduced goods are displayed.

So called because they are going "cheep cheep"!

Customer: "Bird cage?"

CSA: "Because its going cheep cheap!"

Bird Cage Syndrome

When one is accustom to residing in a confine space and suddenly finds themselves in a overwhelmingly larger space and in-turn becomes uncomfortable and hesitant to expand into their new found larger area.

Hey girl, did you hear that Magdalena is now living uptown? She was so used to living in that tiny 450 sq studio that she's now so freaked out about all this new found space and barely even leaves the bedroom. Wow she definitely has a case of the Bird Cage Syndrome.
