A modern day lady affliction whereby post bikini wax, one finds more hairs growing in than are growing out. Can be used as both a verb and a noun (to brannigan is to permform a wax with such recklessness that it causes branniganation of the victim). Brannigans can be identified by the delicate way in which they walk and a gentle odour of tea tree oil which wafts in their presence.
Origin: There was a young lady named Michelle Brannigan
She had whiskers on her fannigan
They fell out and then grew in again
Poor old Michelle Brannigan
Begin again.
Leila was in considerable discomfort. She had wanted to be smooth and hair-free on the beach that summer but instead, due to her beauty therapist's incompetence, she would be nothing but a Brannigan.

Zap Brannigan is the captain of the Nimbus in the show Futurama. He is cocky, narcissistic, and desperately in love with Leela (or just wants to sleep with her). None of the main characters can really stand him and his sad attempts to look like a hero. He can, at times, be unprofessional, ignorant, wanting of attention, inappropriate, and sexist (but of course, that's what makes him Zap).
Zap brannigan:"Now you're now officially my woman. Kudos! I can't say I don't envy you."
Leela:"Zap, last night was a mistake."
Zap brannigan:"A sexy mistake."
A man who needs no introductionn.
Zapp Brannigan: I am the man with no name...Zapp Brannigan at your service.

Also known as "zerging", the Brannigan Doctrine is named for the eponymous Zap Brannigan, who threw "wave after wave" of his own men until the kill bots reached their natural kill limit and shut down.
The Brannigan Doctrine is a staple feature of Russian military "strategy", which appears to consist of throwing "wave after wave" of conscripts at smaller nations only to suffer humiliating casualties at the hands of technically inferior militaries. First seen in the Russo-Finnish war of 1939-40, and then again in the Russo-Ukrainian war.
