codewala

A "codewala" refers to a dedicated software developer or programmer whose main task revolves around coding. This term, though affectionate, can also carry a subtle connotation of being an underappreciated and sometimes overworked professional, akin to a software programmer. It is a colloquial expression, sharing similarities with the slang term "code monkey," and may be associated with individuals who, by choice or circumstance, find themselves deeply immersed in the coding aspects of software development.

The term "wala" is derived from Hindi and is often used as a suffix to indicate a person associated with a particular activity or profession. It is used informally to describe someone based on their job or role.

For example, "dabba wala" refers to a person involved in the lunchbox delivery service, where "dabba" means lunchbox and "wala" denotes a person associated with that item or service. Similarly, "codewala" would be someone associated with coding or writing code, and the suffix adds a sense of identity or role to the word. This informal construction is a way of expressing familiarity and connection with a particular task or occupation.
