The friend who asks you "the quarterback is the one who throws the ball, right?" would be said to be conascending
Verb: To look down on someone or something for being or acting above the conascender's station.
opposite of condescend.

Conascending comments can be difficult for the receiver to respond to, especially when the other person diminishes their own abilities.
