When a TV show or movie uses taboo subjects like death, cancer, racism, old age, rape, guns, domestic abuse, drugs etc is the source of the laughter. That's why it's dark.

a lame comedy featuring all black people so black people feel obliged to se it and pretend that is was really really good.
Death at a Funeral was actually funny even though it was a dark comedy, damn we are gonna have to step it up now
