A detritivores is an organism that feeds on decomposing plants and animal parts, as well as faeces.
For example, fungi, bacteria, and earthworms.
Detritivores are an important aspect of many ecosystems. They can live on any type of soil with an organic component, including marine ecosystems, where they are termed interchangeably with bottom feeders.

An organism that survives off of eating other dead rotting organisms or their waste. (i.e. shit)
You must be a detritivore, because when you don't brush your teeth your breath smells like shit!
