downsie

A playful, almost gentle way to refer to a person with Down's Syndrome. It can also refer to someone who acts as though they have Down's Syndrome.

Can be used as an adjective or a noun.

Ex: I wish I was a downsie. Then I could be put in a "special" home and be taken care of for the rest of my days. Responsibility is so overrated.

Ex: You are soooo downsie! I can't believe you forgot how to ride a bicycle!

downsy

Refering to someone with Downs Syndrome. It is a genetic condition that is increasingly common the older the mother of a child is when she falls pregnant. Downs Sydrome is caused by non disjunction of the 21st chromosome (humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes - each parent supplies 23 chromosomes to the child getting a total of 46) which means chromosome 21 in the mother has not split like it should when making sex cells (gametes) and the child ends up with 3 copies of chromosome 21 compared to the usual 2. Some characteristics of downs syndrome include:

Poor muscle tone
Slanting eyes with folds of skin at the inner corners (called epicanthal folds)
Hyperflexibility (excessive ability to extend the joints)
Short, broad hands with a single crease across the palm on one or both hands
Broad feet with short toes
Flat bridge of the nose
Short, low-set ears
Short neck
Small head
Small oral cavity
Short, high-pitched cries in infancy

Sufferers of Downs Syndrome are usually smaller than their normal peers and their physical and intellectual development is ussually slower.

downsy

A person, generally from the eastern hemisphere, who has been stricken with an extra twenty first chromesome given to them by their unloving mother. This extra inconvenience is refferred to as "Trisomy 21," and often forces the "downsy" to live a life working behind the scenes of carnivals (out of the public eye) and eating everybody's cookie dough.

Though I commited the crime, I blamed my downsy cousin and got him put behind bars where he belongs.

downsy

A negative word used by shallow and inconsiderate people to describe themselves or others when they a) look stupid or b) act stupid, because they think looking and acting dumb is a trademark sign of Down's syndrome. Used by people who have never met someone who actually has Down's syndrome, and who are ignorant of and insensitive to a serious condition.

Cassie: Ewww! I look so downsy in this facebook picture, haha. I look sooo gross! I'm untagging myself!
Anne: Um, you look fine.
Rob: Yeah, shut the fuck up. My sister has Down's syndrome.

Downsies

the word to describe when you are not up, but rather, quite down to partake in usually obnoxious shenanigans. Only, said person does not want to merely say "down" but assert their creatively intelligent IQ level by combining the sounds of ACDC and Mariah Carey in one stunningly grotesque way.

Stranger: "Hey man, you wanna throw water balloons over at the dog park?"
Fun Stranger: "I'm downsies."
