Fudd

Slang term for a "casual" gun owner; eg; a person who typically only owns guns for hunting or shotgun sports and does not truly believe in the true premise of the second amendment. These people also generally treat owners/users of so called "non sporting" firearms like handguns or semiautomatic rifles with unwarranted scorn or contempt.

"See sonny, all those pistols in that cabinet... all thems is good for is killin people." -Example of ignorant comment from a fudd at a local gun shop. See also: Zumbo.

Fudd

A gun owner that believes modern firearm innovation makes it junk and refuses to accept innovation while hugging their outdated beliefs tight.

"You like my new Glock?"
"That piece of Tupperware? It's crap. Show me 2 world wars it's won, like my 1911 does!"
"The heavy, low round count, prone to failure 1911 in a caliber no professionals use anymore and that you pretend that you carry regularly? Get out of here with that crap, Fudd."

Fudd

A slur against "casual" and/or non-militant gun owners, employed by pro-gun extremists. Derived from the Warner Bros. cartoon character, Elmer Fudd, it implies that anyone who does not carry an assault weapon, militarize their hunting & shooting practice, belong to a militia, and/or advocate for the same with fanatical zeal, is somehow stupid, incompetent with their weapon, and out of touch. Essentially, this allows the extremists to marginalize and discount any gun user who isn't crazy.

Look at that <<expletive>>! Showin' up to OUR range with nothing but a Winchester! He don't even have a SCOPE! Them Fudds is gonna be the death of guns in America!

Fudd

A responsible gun owner who pushes for tighter regulations, while also understanding that guns are an evil that we can never do away with in society- much like drugs for example. He understands how ridiculously easy it is to buy a gun, even when you have a misdemeanor assault charge and are on an FBI watch list, much like the Boulder King Soopers shooter did. He looks to other countries, and wonders why is it only America where we see this happen multiple times a year? 2nd Amendmenters will try to label him as a gun grabber or a leftist, but the NRA has a strong foothold in their minds which is to be expected. Many of these Fudd accusers don’t understand that the NRA was originally centered on sport shooting before lobbyists hijacked it around 1934. A Fudd often believes that responsibility comes before the privilege to own a firearm. Bring on the dislikes boys :)

Skeeter: That there Fudd is tryin ta take muh bump stock and high capacity mags away! So what if I’m on one of them FBI watch lists! β€œ β€˜Shall not be infringed upon’ REEEEEEEEEE!!!”

Otto: Damn Skeeter sounds like a snowflake
